On 4/19/23, at 9:15 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Francisca Velazquez and Giovani Gonzalez conducted an unannounced One Year Required Inspection the Child Care Center (CCC). The LPAs met with Lisa Loessberg Director of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPAs, in the company of Director, toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC is an Infant Program. The CCC operates from 6:30 AM-6:00 PM, Monday - Friday. The infants use three classrooms for care (Infant 1, Infant 2 and Toddler 1). LPAs observed 20 infant children in care. LPAs observed the rooms used for childcare to be clean and organized. The rooms have age-appropriate toys and furnishings available for children in care. The CCC has a carbon monoxide detector which was tested and operable at 10:46 AM. The diapering areas used for care are in safe and sanitary operating condition. LPAs notes the CCC has hand washing sinks within arm’s reach. Facility has sleep accommodation for all children in care which includes an ample supply of cribs and mats. LPAs observed and reviewed licensing required notices and documents posted predominately near the entry of the CCC. Likewise, LPAs observed Sign In/Out forms near the entry of the CCC which contains the signature of authorized representatives and the arrival and departure times of children in care. LPAs observed an operable refrigerator in the CCC's kitchen area which contains food and liquids for children in care. The Items within the refrigerator are labeled and dated. The CCC provides breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack for children. LPAs notes there is available drinking water by means of individual water bottles for children both inside the CCC and outside in the play area. The facility’s water sources have been tested for lead containments and results are posted in near the CCC's entry. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, sharps, and medications in CCC are in areas which are inaccessible to children in care. The CCC's outdoor playground area is enclosed by chain link fencing and the footing in the area is varied. The fences' entry/exit gates to the area are secured. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and play equipment in the play areas. CONT 809-C The toys and play equipment are in suitable condition and free of sharp, loose or pointed objects. The play structures in the playground areas have cushioning materials to absorb falls and an abundance of shade created by trees, building overhangs and shade sails. Director is reminded to replace toys and play equipment which begin to degraded and is in not good repair. No bodies of water were observed on site. Waste receptacles with tight fitting covers were observed throughout the CCC. A sampling of staff and children's records were reviewed.
