What the inspector wrote

On July 13, 2023 at 3:55 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Laura Villanueva conducted an unannounced Required-1 year inspection. LPA met with facility Director,Irina Artemyeva and informed her the purpose of the inspection. Director provided LPA a tour of the facility inside and out. Facility hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. There were 41 children in care and 4 staff at the time of the inspection. LPA observed all required documents posted on the wall at the entrance of the facility. The facility has 2 school aged classrooms. They have private restrooms for children. The center provides breakfast, lunch and snacks for the children. The center uses an outdoor grass area for children to play. LPA observed the center has enough shade readily available for the children. The center provides water to children inside and out. Children have individual water bottles that are filled with filtered water. Facility uses an electronic application to communicate with parents. LPA reviewed a sampling of children and staff files. Children files reviewed were found to be current. Staff files reviewed were found to be current. Facility staff meet the CPR/First aid and Mandated Reporter requirements. Last fire drill was documented on 06/08/2023 Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA also informed facility representatives of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010 to test their drinking water for lead contamination between January 1, 2020 and January 1, 2023, and then every 5 years after the date of the first test. Director was reminded a licensed child day care provider, administrator, or employee of a licensed child day care facility shall complete the mandated reporter certification AB1207 every two years at www.mandatedreporterca.com Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platform. Director was made aware that it is the facility's responsibility to know the current regulations for a CCC which can be accessed on-line at www.cdss.ca.gov To receive important licensed related information to licensed facilities, visit the CCLD Important Information website at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care-licensing/subscribe and select the Child Care option to receive email communication To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey will be sent to the email address provided. CONTINUED ON LIC809C Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. THE NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS GIVEN TO POST AS REQUIRED BY H&S CODE SEC. 1596.817. No deficiencies cited. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Irina Artemyeva.
