On May 20, 2026 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Giovani Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Case Management - Licensee Initiated inspection at the above mentioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Director Jessica Derby and informed them the purpose of the inspection was to conduct a change of capacity. At the time of the inspection no school age children were present. The CCC is requesting to decrease the capacity from 38 to 14 children. LPA notes the CCC will transition 1 classroom into the Preschool Program and 1 classroom (Kids Club 2) will remain part of the school age program. Based on the overall indoor/outdoor square footage, toilets and sinks, the center meets the requirement for 14 children. The Ventura City Fire Department granted a fire clearance for 14 children on 4/28/26. Decrease in capacity is effective 5/20/26. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Jessica Derby.
