What the inspector wrote

On 3/18/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) German Negrete made an unannounced visit for the purpose of completing a Case Management - Incident inspection. LPA met with Center Director Leon Paul and informed Director of the purpose for todays inspection. LPA conducted a walk through of the Child Care Center with the Center Director. LPA observed at the time of the walk-through 54 children being supervised by 3 staff. On 1/16/2025, Program Specialist contacted Community Care Licensing (CCL) to self-report the following unusual incident : On approximately 8/15/2024 C1 was playing outside in the play ground with the rest of the children in the "two's" classroom. S1 and S2 were providing care and supervision to the children. According to S1 during transitioning, from outside to inside, C1 was brought into the Two's classroom, and was checked off on the "name to face" document. S1 stated, how S1 was informed by S3, how C1 was still out side in the play yard. It is still unclear who returned C1 back inside the two's classroom. The additional incident under review by CCL, was self reported to the department on 8/01/2023. The reporting party stated: A parent approached Assistant Director (AD) and stated teachers were giving C1 gummy bears with melatonin. Parent is claiming when picking up C1 at the center, parent over heard, teachers were giving out gummy bears as a reward system for potty training. Continued On LIC809-C Allegedly these gummy bears had Melatonin inside of them(LIC812). Teachers would place the gummy bears in a baggy and send the gummy bears home with the children. Today LPA verified the 8/14/2024 unusual incident written report (LIC624) was emailed to CCL on 1/23/2025. The time and date of the 8/01/2023 unusual written incident report(LIC624) is still being reviewed by CCL. Today LPA conducted staff interviews for both aforementioned unusual incidents. LPA requested and received a children's roster and staff roster. The review/case management of both incidents by CCL is on going. Exit interview Conducted and report was read to Director Leon Paul.
