What the inspector wrote

On May 14 th , 2025, at 01:11 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Fernando Hernandez conducted an unannounced Annual Random inspection and at the above Family Childcare Home (FCCH). The FCCH operating hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, provides care to children 1 month to 13 years old. During the inspection, LPA and Licensee toured the inside and outside of the home. LPA observed 6 children in care under the supervision of licensee. LPA notes the home is two-story home. The Accessible area in the home includes, (1) bathroom, enclosed backyard, dining room, living room for daily activities and napping. The areas inaccessible are the garage, (1) bathroom, entire 2 nd floor, and front yard remains inaccessible to children. LPA notes a child safety gate is in place at the bottom of the stairs ensuring the 2 nd floor is off-limits for children during day care. The required licensing forms are posted in the prominent location. Filtered water is accessible to children in care by means of individual water cups. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and equipment, mats and play pens inside the home. Knives are stored elevated in kitchen cabinet made inaccessible to children in care while cleaning materials are stored elevated in kitchen pantry cabinet made inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed the back yard to be completely fenced by a concrete wall. LPA notes the bathroom for children\342\200\231s use was observed to be free of toxins. Licensee confirmed there are no firearms and ammunition in the home. CONTINUE ON LIC809-C PAGE 2 LPA reviewed the facility file and found that the Pediatric CPR and First Aid certificate expires on 03/08/26 while the Mandated Reporter Training Certificate expires on 04/03/26. LPA reminded Licensee that it is their responsibility to renew the certificates every two years. The regulation fire extinguisher (2A10BC) was observed with a purchase date of 05/05/25. LPA reminded Licensee to purchase/service fire extinguisher annually. A Carbon monoxide and smoke detector was tested and found functional at 01:27 PM. FCCH conducts fire and disaster drill every six months and last drill was conducted on 04/01/2025. LPA reviewed children's records. LPA reviewed 4 out of 4 children\342\200\231s records which were found complete. LPA reviewed 2 out of 2 children\342\200\231s infant safe sleep documentation to be complete for infants under the age of two years. LPA reviewed children\342\200\231s roster to be complete with all children present listed on the children\342\200\231s roster. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Licensee, was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. CONTINUED ON LIC809-C PAGE 3 LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee, the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility does not plan to provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP. A Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
