Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On February 5, 2026 at 10:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Laura Carone made an unannounced visit to conduct an Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with Program Lead, Mayra Maldonado and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA and Program Lead toured the interior and exterior of the center. The center is located on an elementary school site. There is 1 preschool classroom. The playground is shared with the Transitional Kindergarten (T-K) elementary children on a staggered schedule. LPA advised Program Lead that a waiver must be submitted to the Department for approval to share a playground area with the elementary school. LPA provided Program Lead with instructions on waiver writing. There were 20 children with 3 staff at the time of the inspection. The center operates Monday through Friday from 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM for the morning session. The afternoon session operates from 2:15 PM to 5:15 PM and on Wednesday from 12:15 PM to 3:15 PM. LPA observed the classroom to be clean and orderly with ample learning materials available. LPA observed a carbon monoxide detector mounted in the classroom. Last fire drill was 01/21/2026. No bodies of water were observed on site. No toxins nor hazards are accessible to children in care. Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates are current for staff. AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates are valid. All required forms including Notification of Parent's Rights are prominently posted for parent's or authorized representatives to view. A roster of children in care was observed current and complete. A sampling of children records were reviewed, and LPA observed Identification and Emergency Notification forms (LIC 700) and a copy of immunization records on file.
