What the inspector wrote

On May 4st, 2023, at 2:08PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rosie Breault conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with Lead Administrator Wendi Keith and advised her the purpose of the inspection. Director provided LPA a tour of the facility inside and out. The center operates Monday through Friday 7:00AM-6:00PM. At the time of the inspection there were fifty-seven (57) children, and eleven (11) staff present. LPA observed required licensing documents and menu mounted on the wall at the entrance of the facility. Parents use written logs for the purposes of signing in and out. The facility is currently utilizing six (6) classrooms for care and supervision. Each of the classrooms have ample ventilation, age-appropriate toys, and furniture readily accessible for children in care. Children nap on cots and their individual bedding is stored separately. Children bring their own water bottles and facility also provides filter water for use. At the time of the inspection, LPA observed all cleaning compounds, disinfectants, sharps, combustibles, and tools to be elevated and inaccessible to children. First aid kits are available. Director stated classrooms are cleaned every evening by a janitorial service. LPA observed the facility has a sufficient number of restrooms and sinks available for the children, which were functioning and clean at the time of the inspection. Facility provides snacks and LPA observed kitchen to be clean, free of rodents, and appliances in working order. Fire extinguisher was last serviced on 1/26/2023 and per administrator, last fire drill was conducted on 9/14/2022. LPA reminded administrator fire extinguishers are to be serviced or new one purchased yearly, and drills are to be conducted every six months. Per administrator no firearms are ammunition are located on the property. Facility currently uses two (2) outdoor play yards for children in care. LPA observed the outdoor area play area to have ample amount of space for children to play with appropriate toys and equipment, shade, soft padding, and sandbox free of debris. No bodies of water are present. CONTINUED ON LIC809C Incident Medical Services are currently being provided at this time. At the time of the inspection, LPA observed one locked safe with individual medication stored. Medications were stored separately in bags, with unaltered labels, and not expired. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. LPA observed children's files to be complete and current. LPA reviewed SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis requirements. Teachers meet the required qualifications. Teacher present has Pediatric CPR / First Aid current through 8/2024. Mandated Reporter Certificates are current through 2023. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation interpretations and procedures for Child Care Centers sections 101173 and 101226. THE NOTICE OF SITE VISIT MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS OR A CIVIL PENALTY OF $100.00 WILL APPLY.
