What the inspector wrote

On December 20, 2021 at 12:38 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Dean Thompson and LPM George Mingle conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA conducted the Covid-19 screening questions prior to entering the facility. LPA met with licensees Meenakshi & Ritesh Solanki and advised the purpose of the inspection. Licensee provided LPA a tour of the home inside and out. There were no children in care at the time of the inspection. LPAs observed required licensing documents mounted on the wall near the entrance of the home. Children in care have access to the family room and living room areas. During the tour, LPA did not observe any hazards/toxins items accessible to children in care. Licensee stated there are no firearms or ammunition inside the home. There are no bodies of water present at the time of inspection. Fire and carbon monoxide alarms were tested and working. Fire extinguisher 2A10BC is fully charged with a purchase date of 1/23/21. Fire and earthquake drills are being logged and viewable at entrance. Fireplace in the family room is covered by a screen preventing children from access. Children have access to toys that are age-appropriate inside and outside of the home. Back yard is enclosed and shaded. LPAs reviewed children files. All children files were current. Licensee advised there were no children in care that required Incidental Medical Services. Licensee CPR/first aid is valid through 1/15/2023. Licensee mandated reporter training is current 9/11/2022. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Form LIC 9227 was handed to the licensee Meenakshi Solanki Information on Lead Toxicity Prevention and Water Testing Information was given to licensee Meenakshi Solanki No deficiencies were cited during today's inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Meenakshi & Ritesh Solanki
