What the inspector wrote

On June 19, 2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Giovani Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Required - 3 Year inspection at the above-mentioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with licensee Eloisa Saldana and informed them of the purpose of the inspection. At the time of the inspection 10 children and 1 assistant were present. LPA in the company of the licensee toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. LPA notes the home used the living room, 1 bedroom, bathroom and backyard for child care purposes. LPA observed the living room to be clean and free of hazards. LPA observed age appropriate toys and furniture in good condition. LPA observed the kitchen is made inaccessible with child proof gates. LPA observed the sharps and cleaning compounds to stored in an elevated kitchen cabinet. LPA observed the bedroom used for child care purposes to have age appropriate children's toys and equipment. LPA observed the reminding bedrooms to be secured with locks and are inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed the bathroom for children to be clean and free of hazards. LPA observed the backyard to be completely enclosed. LPA observed the backyard to have sufficient space for children's activities. LPA observed the backyard to have storage sheds that are secured and inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed the exit ways to be secured with latches that are beyond the reach of children in care. No bodies of water were observed on site. LPA observed the FCCH to have a smoke and a carbon monoxide detector which were tested at 9:54AM and found in working order. The FCCH to have a regulation fire extinguisher which was purchased on 3/24/2025. LPA reminded licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. CONTINUED PAGE 2 LPA reviewed children's records which were found to be complete. LPA observed all infants to have a current LIC 9227. LPA observed the last entry for Safe Sleep checks to be 6/19/25. LPA observed the assistants file to be current and complete. LPA observed licensee's Mandated Reporter Training to be current (completed 2/6/2024).Further, licensee's CPR/First Aid was completed on 2/14/2024. LPA reminded licensee that it is their responsibility to ensure all training and certifications are current. Licensee stated there are no fire arms in the home. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. CONTINUED PAGE 3 During the exit interview, the Licensee, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. No deficiencies were issued during today's inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
