What the inspector wrote

On October 2, 2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Giovani Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Required - 3 Year inspection at the above-mentioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Site Supervisor Maricela Leon and informed them the purpose of the inspection. At the time of the inspection 19 children and 4 staff were present. LPA in the company of the Site Supervisor toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. LPA observed the center to have its required postings at the entrance of the CCC. LPA observed the classroom to have age appropriate equipment that is in good condition. LPA observed the classroom to be clean and free of hazards as well. LPA observed cleaning compounds to be stored on an elevated surface that is beyond the reach of children in care. LPA observed closets and cabinets to be made inaccessible to children in care with child proof locks. LPA observed the bathrooms used for child care purposes to be clean and free of hazards. Site supervisor informed LPA they have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors that are regularly tested. LPA observed the children are provided filtered drinking water with disposable cups. LPA observed the CCC provides food for the children and a menu to be posted as well. LPA observed the outdoor are to be completely enclosed. LPA observed age appropriate toys and equipment that are in good condition. LPA observed the outdoor area to have sufficient space and shading for children in care. LPA observed a play structure with rubber footing for the fall zones that is in good condition. LPA observed storage containers that were locked an inaccessible to children in care. No bodies of water were observed on site. LPA reviewed a sampling of children's files which were found to be current and complete. LPA reviewed files CONTINUED PAGE 2 of staff present and were observed to be current and complete. LPA observed more than one staff to have a current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certificate. LPA observed all staff to have a current Mandated Reporter Training certificate. LPA observed the last emergency drill was be conducted 9/29/25. Staff was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP . Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
