On 05/28/26 at 12:30, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Veronica Martinez conducted an unannounced Annual inspection at the Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with licensee Claudia Villalpando and advised them of the purpose of the inspection. The licensee provided LPA a tour of the home inside and outside. There were 6 children in care at the time of the inspection with 1 adult assistant present. The FCCH operates Monday through Friday from 4:00 AM - 7:00 PM. LPA observed the required licensing documents posted in a prominent location within the home. Fire and earthquake drills are conducted and documented every six months. The last drill was conducted on 05/07/26. The fire extinguisher (2A10BC) located in the kitchen was last purchased on 02/18/26. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and found to be operational at 12:50 PM. The FCCH is a 2 bedroom and 1 bathroom single story home. Areas accessible to children in care include living room, dinning room, kitchen, bathroom, and backyard. Off-limit areas include 2 bedroom and garage and were observed to be properly secured. Knives and sharp objects are stored in top kitchen cabinet. Cleaning supplies and other hazardous items are stored on top of the refrigerator located in the kitchen. Age-appropriate toys, furniture, and materials were observed accessible to children. Back yard play area is enclosed and has plenty of toys, play structures, and activities. During the inspection, LPA did not observe any hazards, toxins, or bodies of water accessible to children in care. Continued on 809-C LPA reviewed 6 children’s files. Files were observed to be complete. Any missing documents were discussed with the licensee. LPA reviewed licensee and/or staff records. Licensee’s Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is valid through 11/06/27. Licensee was reminded that a licensed child care provider shall complete the Mandated Reporter Training (AB1207) every two years at www.mandatedreporterca.com . Licensee’s Mandated Reporter certification is valid through 11/15/27. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Continued on 809-C Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee Claudia Villalpando, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
