What the inspector wrote

On July 18 th , 2025, at 10:34AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Fernando Hernandez conducted an unannounced Annual Random inspection and at the above Family Childcare Home (FCCH). The FCCH operating hours are Monday to Friday from 5:30 AM to 7:00 PM, provides care for children 0 months to 5 years old. During the inspection, LPA met with Licensee Mary Alamillo and (1) Assistant who has received a criminal record clearance. Alongside the Licensee we toured the inside and outside of the home. LPA observed 5 children under the care and supervision of the licensee and (1) assistant at the time of inspection. LPA notes the residence is a two-story home, the accessible area(s) in the home includes the (1) bathroom, dining room, kitchen, living room, (1) bedroom for napping, and a fully enclosed backyard. The areas inaccessible are the entire 2 nd floor, garage, and fenced off portion(s) of the backyard are off limits and are inaccessible to children in care. LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. LPA observed a small portion of the backyard to be fenced off ensuring garbage bins and AC units are inaccessible to children in care. LPA also notes the detergents and cleaning supplies are kept locked under the kitchen sink made inaccessible to child in care. The required licensing forms are posted in the prominent location. Continued on LIC809-C page 2 Filtered water is accessible to children in care by means of individual water cups. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and equipment, and children\342\200\231s sleeping mats & sleeping crib inside the home. LPA notes knives are stored in kitchen cabinet with a child safety lock ensuring inaccessibility to children in care. LPA notes the children\342\200\231s bathroom was observed to be free of toxins. The Licensee confirmed there are no firearms and ammunition within the home. LPA observed no bodies of water. LPA reviewed the facility file and found that the Pediatric CPR and First Aid certificate expires on 01/16/2026. LPA notes Licensee and Assistant did not have a current Mandated Reporter Training Certificate (a Type B deficiency will be cited based on observation please see LIC809-D for more details). LPA reminded that it is their responsibility to renew the certificates every two years. The regulation fire extinguisher (2A10BC) was observed with a purchase date 04/19/2025. LPA reminded Licensee to purchase/service fire extinguisher annually. A combination carbon monoxide and smoke detectors were tested and found functional at 09:58 AM. The FCCH conducts fire and disaster drills every six months and the last drill was conducted on 04/16/2025. LPA notes Assistants file was reviewed and found incomplete, LPA observed assistants immunizations to be missing (1) immunization (please see LIC9102 AN for more details). LPA reviewed children's records. LPA notes 3 out of 3 children\342\200\231s records which were found complete. LPA reviewed children\342\200\231s infant safe sleep documentation and observed the infant sleep chart to be complete for children under the age of 2. LPA reviewed children\342\200\231s roster to be complete with all children present listed on the children\342\200\231s roster. Continued on LIC809-C page 3 Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Licensee, was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee, the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility does provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP. A Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. During today\342\200\231s inspection (1) Type B deficiency and (1) Technical Violation were cited today. (Please see LIC809-D and LIC9102 AN for more details.) A Notice of Site Visit was issued and must be posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Mary Alamillo.
