What the inspector wrote

On 8/24/22 at 1:40 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Michael Mathew conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection. LPA asked Covid-19 screening questions prior to conducting the inspection. LPA met with facility director Dulce Contreras and advised him the purpose of the inspection to increase capacity. Director provided LPA a tour of the facility inside and out. There were 50 children and 7 staff in care at the time of the inspection. On 4/6/2022, Community Care Licensing (CCL) received an application from the facility requesting to increase capacity. CCL reviewed and accepted the application. A fire clearance request was submitted to the Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD). The facility received an approved fire clearance on 8/17/2022 The facility has 4 approved classrooms (Preschool 1 & 2, pepper, and Twaddler) and is adding one more classroom (Preschool 3). LPA toured the additional classroom and observed no furniture in the classroom. Director stated that once Preschool 3 is approved facility will be ordering age-appropriate furniture and toys for the children. Director also agreed to send pictures of preschool 3 with furniture prior to enrolling children in preschool 3. LPA observed a total of 2 sinks and one restroom with two toilets in preschool 3. LPA observed carpet and titled floors in preschool 3. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. LPA observed children and Staff files to be complete and current. This center meets Title 22 Division 12 requirements. License will be effective today, 8/24/22 for 106 children. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal rights were given, and report was reviewed with the director Dulce Contreras
