What the inspector wrote

On March 5, 2026 at 1:45 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brian Fung conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with site supervisor Adriana Vergara and advised the purpose of the inspection. Site supervisor provided LPA a tour of the center inside and out. There were 0 children in care at the time of the inspection and 4 teachers, 1 student teacher, and 1 site supervisor in the center. Upon LPA arrival to the center, children were currently being picked up by parents. The center's hours of operations are from 8:15 am to 2:15 pm. LPA observed required Licensing required documents posted prominently at the entrance. Fire and earthquake drills are being documented every six months. Last drill was conducted on 2/24/2026. Fire extinguisher 2A10BC mounted on the wall inside the school room was last serviced 1/30/2026. Children have access to 1 classroom and 1 out door play yard. The classroom has 2 children bathrooms, 1 toilet and sink in each bathroom. Classroom is equipped with plenty of activities and toys that are age appropriate. Outdoor space has plenty of bicycles, scooters play structures, and activities. Sign in/ out sheet are conducted on the center's IPad while using the app "Child Plus." LPA confirmed the sign in/out roster. Menus are posted on the refrigerator door located near the front door of the classroom. LPA reviewed 4 out of 4 children records and were all current. LPA reviewed 5 out of 5 staff files. All staff files are current. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. CCC COMPLETED TESTING AND NO LEAD EXCEEDANCES: Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP . LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with site supervisor and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed site supervisor of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Site supervisor discussed with LPA that children do not sleep in the facility as the hours of operations are from 8:15am to 2:15pm. Continued on 809-C Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the site supervisor Adriana Vergara.
