What the inspector wrote

On November 6 2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Giovani Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Required - 3 Year inspection and to address an increase of capacity. LPA met with Licensee Ashley Garcia and informed them the purpose of the inspection. LPA in the company of the Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The FCCH uses a family room, living room, 1 bathroom and the backyard for child care purposes. At the time of the inspection there were 11 children in care and 2 staff present. LPA observed age appropriate toys, furniture and equipment in the FCCH's interior. LPA observed a fire place in the family room to be covered and inaccessible to children in care. LPA did not observe any medications or sharps accessible to children in care. LPA observed the kitchen to be accessible and that all cabinets/drawers within the reach of children were free of hazards. LPA observed cleaning compounds to be stored in an elevated cabinet beyond the reach of children in an excluded area of the home. LPA observed the bathroom used for child care purposes to be clean and free of toxins. LPA observed required licensing forms and documents to be posted in the hallway next to the entryway of the FCCH. LPA observed multiple smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the FCCH. A combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector was tested and found to be operable. The FCCH has a regulation fire extinguisher which was purchased in August. LPA reminds Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. The backyard is completely enclosed with fencing. LPA observed the sides of the home to be blocked off and inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed a hot tub that was secured, covered and inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed that the home has 2 chickens and reminded Licensee that the outdoor area must be kept clean. CONTINUED PAGE 2 A sampling of children's records was reviewed.
