What the inspector wrote

On July 16, 2021 at 8:55 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Austin Rios and Francisco Pedroza conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPAs asked Covid-19 screening questions prior to entering the facility. LPAs met with director Cheryl Curtis and advised her the purpose of the inspection. LPAs conducted a tour of the facility inside and out. There were 25 children in care at the time of the inspection. The center operates from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday for the summer camp. This is a combined center with Infant Program. Licensing required notices were posted prominently on the wall at the entrance of the facility. The preschool has nine classrooms for care and is currently using three. LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. The classrooms have age appropriate toys and furniture available for children. Facility does not currently provide snacks. Children have the option to order lunch from the facility or bring a lunch from home after summer camp ends. The outdoor playground has age appropriate toys and equipment. The playground has an ample amount of shade available. The center has water available for children inside and out. The center does provide incidental medical services. LPA observed where the children medication is stored and secured.Center uses electronic application bright wheel for sign in and sign out. Continued on 809-C A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed and found complete. Teacher's Medical Health Records were verified . Teachers have required qualifications. Teachers present have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates that expire on 02/22/2022. Teachers present have current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates that expire on 8/13/2021. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed and currently the center does have children with IMS. Plan of Operations on file. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. THE NOTICE OF SITE VISIT MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS OR A CIVIL PENALTY OF $100.00 WILL APPLY.
