What the inspector wrote

On 5/14/2025 at 9:58 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Cynthia Alvarez & Veronica Diaz conducted an unannounced Required inspection. LPAs met with Director Tammy Grodt and advised them of the purpose of the inspection. Director provided LPAs a tour of the facility inside and out. There were 20 children in care at the time of the inspection along with 2 staff. Center operates M-F 7:00AM-4:30PM. LPAs observed required licensing documents posted on the walls in the classroom; however, PUB 269, PUB393 and LIC 613A were missing, per Director, documents are posted in the old classroom they were using, Director moved the documents to the classroom during the inspection Last disaster drill was conducted on 4/14/25. The classroom has age-appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care. LPAs observed enough restrooms available for children to use. LPAs did not observe any hazards/toxins items accessible to children. The First Aid kit was observed in the classroom. Currently the facility uses physical paper logs for parent\342\200\231s sign-in/sign-out for communication with parents\342\200\231 facility will send home flyers with updates or announcements, advise in person, or text/ and call. Facility does not provide any food for children, parents are advised to send children with a snack and lunch for the day, since the facility does not provide food for the children no menus were observed. The outdoor playground is shaded and has an enough amount of space for children to play. LPAs observed the playground has age-appropriate toys and structures available for children to use. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. LPA observed children's files to be complete; however, 1 file was found to be pending the Incidental Medical Plan for one student who has an allergy, the medication was stores insensible to the students with and instructions on how to administer. LPAs advised director to obtain document from the physician and to create an IMS Plan. One staff was missing notice of negative TB test, LPAs advised director to have staff submit TB Test. 2 nd staff was missing immunization required by licensing , LPAs advised director to have staff complete pending immunizations. Director is reminded of the health requirement SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis for teachers at the facility . Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For childcare center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance with the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPAs reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP . A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeals Right were provided Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Tammy Grodt. 1 Type B deficency and 1 Technical Violation was cited .
