What the inspector wrote

On April 27, 2023 at 9:45 am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Susana Martinez and Giovani Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Case Management- licensee initiated inspection. LPAs met with licensee Lara Horsting and advised her of the purpose for the inspection. Together with the licensee, LPA's toured the facility inside and outside. At the time of inspection there were 6 children present with the licensee. No bodies of water were observed during the inspection. The licensee submitted an application to increase the capacity. The Ventura County Fire Departed granted a fire clearance on 04/04/2023. Licensee primarily uses the classroom directly next to the living room, the dining room, one bathroom and the backyard. The backyard is fully fenced with sufficient shade and age-appropriate toys and structures. The licensee has a trampoline with a safety net, LPAs reminded licensee to keep the safety net closed, follow the manufacturer. instructions regarding the age and capacity allowed in the trampoline and that children must always be supervised. No hazardous/toxic items were observed during today's inspection. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. The home meets Title 22 Division 12 requirements of a Large Family Child Care Home (FCCH). Effective today, April 27, 2023. LPAs discussed ratios and provided a ratio handout. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for a minimum of 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with licensee Lara Horsting.
