What the inspector wrote

On December 4 th 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rosie Breault conducted an announced Case Management visit. LPA met with site supervisor Darlene Goodrich and discussed the purpose of the inspection. The facility is located on the grounds of Rancho Campana High School. On September 5 th , 2023, licensee applied for a toddler component addition to the preschool program. Licensee applied for a capacity of 8 toddler children aged 18 months \342\200\223 36 months. The preschool program operates Monday \342\200\223 Friday 8:00AM \342\200\223 2:00PM and utilizes classrooms \342\200\234F\342\200\235 and \342\200\234G\342\200\235. The toddler program will operate Monday \342\200\223 Friday 7:30AM-5:30PM and utilize classroom \342\200\234T\342\200\235. Preschool and toddler program do not share classrooms or outdoor play area. Site supervisor stated parents/authorized representatives use the ChildPlus app for purposes of signing in and out. LPA observed toddler classroom to contain age-appropriate toys and equipment, ample ventilation, drinking water, two sinks and one toilet available for use. LPA observed first aid kids and carbon monoxide was tested and functioning at the time of the inspection. Fire extinguisher was last services on 3/6/2023. Site supervisor stated all meals and snacks are provided to children and LPA observed kitchen to be clean, orderly, function and free of rodents. Children will nap on mats/ cots and LPA reminded site supervisor that facility is to adhere to Safe Sleep Regulations at all times. LPA reminded site supervisor parents to give permission for the placement of their children in the toddler program. The outdoor area is contained by permitter fencings, and includes soft padding to absorbs falls, age-appropriate toys and equipment, water available, and ample shade. No bodies of water were present at the time of the inspection. Site supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. CEO was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Ventura County Fire Department conducted an inspection on 11/9/2023 cleared facility for childcare. Toddler classroom area measures a total of 384.63 sq. ft which accommodates licensee\342\200\231s requested capacity. Outdoor play area measures a total of 1244.60 sq ft. which accommodates licensee\342\200\231s requested capacity. Toddler option addition pending manager approval. No deficiencies were cited during today\342\200\231s inspection. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with site supervisor Darlene Goodrich Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
