What the inspector wrote

On May 01, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Fernando Hernandez and Cynthia Alvarez conducted an unannounced Case Management - Change of Capacity inspection at the above-mentioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPAs met with both licensees Gabrielle Angeles and Patricia Valdovinos and informed them the purpose of the inspection. At the time of the inspection there were 5 children present under supervision of both licensee(s). LPAs and Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the home. LPAs observed that both the interior and exterior specifically the day care areas were free of hazardous materials and/or toxins at the time of the inspection. FCCH uses the open space interconnected living room, kitchen, dining, (1) bathroom, and fenced backyard for day care operation. The (5) bedrooms, and garage is inaccessible to day care children. LPA\342\200\231s reminded licensee of the importance to ensure all inaccessible rooms remain closed when children are present. LPAs note the backyard was observed and found closed paint cans. LPAs observed Licensee immediately threw them away. LPAs reviewed Licensee's file; First Aid/CPR certification was verified which will expire on 09/07/2026. Mandated reporter was verified which will expire on 10/16/2026 Fire Extinguisher was serviced on 07/26/2025. A carbon and smoke detectors were tested at 11:51 AM and found operational. The Licensee submitted documentation for a FCCH change of capacity. The Licensee is seeking to change the FCCH\342\200\231s capacity from 8 (Small FCCH) to 14 (Large FCCH). The Oxnard Fire Department granted a fire clearance following an inspection completed at FCCH on 02/06/2025. CONTINUED ON LIC809-C page 2 LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: htttps://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep, as an additional resource. LPAs also informed applicant of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. On this date, May 1 st , 2025, the California Attorney General - Megan\342\200\231s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. The Licensee(s), owns the home and provided proof of control of property. (1) Technical Violations was cited during the inspection please see 9102 TV for more details. Issuance of Large FCCH License will be pending for LPM approval. A notice of site visit was given to licensee/applicant and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee(s), Gabrielle Angeles & Patricia Valdovinos.
