What the inspector wrote

This is a change of location. Prior facility number is: 566208880 On August 16, 2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susana Martinez conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection. LPA met with site supervisor Sherrie Damas and advised her of the purpose for the inspection. Together with the site supervisor, LPA toured the facility inside and outside. At the time of inspection there were no children in care. No bodies of water were observed. The center plans on operating M-F 8:15 AM- 12:15 PM with an extended hours option from 7 AM- 5:30 PM. Center will not be preparing any meals on site, children will bring lunch and snacks from home. The center plans on utilizing 7 classrooms for child care. Rooms 1-4 will be utilized for children ages 4-5 and rooms labeled K1- K3 will be utilized for children ages 2-3. The center uses Procare App for sign-in, sign-out and communication. Each of the classrooms will have age-appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care. Toilets and sinks were found to be in sanitary operating condition. LPA did not observe any hazards/toxins items accessible to children. The outdoor playground is fenced and has appropriate shading. The age-appropriate play structure and play equipment were observed to be in good condition and free of hazards. The areas around and under high climbing equipment have cushioned material. A fire clearance was granted on 7/28/2023 by the Ventura County Fire Department for 60 ambulatory children. LPA advised site supervisor that for any increase of capacity and/or to add non-ambulatory children, a new application would need to be submitted to the Department and a new Fire Clearance would be requested to reflect the new capacity. Continued on 809-C Site supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP . When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA provided site supervisor a pictorial ratio fact sheet. The center meets Title 22 Division 12 requirements. License will be effective today, 08/16/2023 for total capacity of 60 ambulatory children. A notice of site visit was given to site supervisor and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the site supervisor Sherrie Damas.
