Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 02/27/2026 at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Veronica Martinez (Diaz) conducted a Case Management \342\200\223 Incident inspection at the Family Child Care Home (FCCH) to follow up on an Unusual Incident Report (UIR) received by the Department on 01/21/2026. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee, Susana Segovia, and advised her of the purpose of the visit. There were 4 children present in care at the time of inspection. The reported incident involved the licensee\342\200\231s minor son (C1), who was arrested following a physical altercation with another minor after school. Per licensee\342\200\231s statement, the incident occurred approximately two blocks from the school both minors attend. Licensee stated that C1 admitted involvement in the altercation to school personnel and that video footage of the incident was circulating. As a result, C1 was detained in juvenile hall for approximately one week. Licensee reported that this behavior is not typical of C1 and that there have been no prior similar incidents. Licensee stated that C1 is currently on informal probation and is complying with court requirements, which include participation in counseling services and anger management classes. Licensee further stated the family is addressing the matter appropriately. LPA verified that the licensee notified the Department as required. Based on information obtained during today\342\200\231s inspection, and observation of the facility, the incident does not pose an immediate risk to children in care. No deficiencies were cited during today\342\200\231s visit. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Susana Segovia .
