What the inspector wrote

This inspection is at the same location, Due to the City Ordinance the house number changed from 439 1/2 to 441 Acacia Rd Unit A the old facility 566216393 On 06/27/2024 at 11:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Veronica Diaz and David Roman conducted an announced Pre-licensing and change of capacity inspection. Licensee and LPAs toured the facility inside and outside. Licensee was caring for 6 children at the time of the inspection with assistant who is fingerprint cleared. The home is a 4- bedroom, 2-bath, home. The applicant will use the living room, family room, kitchen, 0 Bedroom, 1 bathroom, and backyard for the childcare. 4 bedrooms,and 1 bathroom will not be utilized and will be designated off limits for childcare. LPAs observed a screened fireplace in the living room inaccessible to children. LPAs did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. The backyard is fully enclosed with a fenced wall. Cleaning agents and disinfectants are stored in the top kitchen cabinets out of reach from children . Kitchen knives are stored in top cabinet out of reach. The bathroom to be used for children in care was observed to be clean and sanitary. A regulation 2A10BC fire extinguisher was observed with a purchase date of 05/16/2024 . Licensee is reminded to service or purchase the fire extinguisher yearly. Fire clearance from Ventura County Fire Marshal was cleared on 5/21/2024. LPAs had applicant test smoke and carbon monoxide detector which were found operational. All adults in the home are fingerprint cleared. LPAs observed the home to be orderly. No bodies of water were observed on site. Licensee stated that there are no guns or ammunition in the home. Licensee's Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate is valid until 05/09/2025. Licensee Mandated Reported Training is valid until 8/11/2023 Licensee is reminded that Mandated Reporter Training is due every 2 years, Assistance Mandated Reporter Training is valid until 7/25/2024. Licensee last completed an emergency disaster drill on 04/04/2024. Continued on 809-C All required forms including Notification of Parent's Rights are prominently posted for parent's or authorized representatives to view. A roster of children in care was observed current and complete. All children records were reviewed, and LPAs observed Identification and Emergency Notification forms (LIC 700) and a copy of immunization records on file. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee stated they do not have children that need IMS Incidental Medical Services. IMS policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP . When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPAs reviewed with applicant the LIC 311D, Forms/Records to Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children\342\200\231s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted. Entrance Checklist was provided to the Licensee. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey will be sent to the email address provided. LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/ safe-sleep , as an additional resource. LPAs also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. On this date 06/27/2024, the California Attorney General - Megan\342\200\231s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. Licensee, was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms.
