What the inspector wrote

Prior License in LA county 197403429 On 5/21/2025 at 9:33 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Veronica Diaz and Cynthia Alvarez conducted an announced Pre-licensing inspection. LPAs informed the Applicant Alina and Peter Taub the purpose of the inspection and together Family Child Care Home (FCCH) the FCCH inside and outside. Applicants were not caring for children at the time of the inspection. Applicants stated childcare will be provided Monday thru Friday from 8am-5pm. Applicants stated they will provide care for infants 3 months to children 5 years of age. The home is a 3 bedroom, 4 bath, home. The applicant will use 2 Bedrooms (1 bedroom turned into a child care room), 1 bathroom (will be used if child is sick), and side yard for the childcare. Inaccessible areas will be the living room, kitchen, dinning room, garage, 1 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, back covered patio, and backyard listed in facility sketch as designated area off limits for childcare. LPAs observed a screened fireplace in the kitchen inaccessible to children. LPAs observed swimming pool in the back yard. LPAs observed pool to have 5 foot mesh fencing around pool, 2 alarms 1 attached to the pool and 1 attached jacuzzi. LPAs observed a life ring with a minimum exterior diameter of 17 inches and labeled as approved by the United States Coast Guard and a rescue pole with a body hook and minimum fixed length of 12 feet. LPAs did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. Continued on 809-C The side yard use for child care is fully enclosed with a fenced wall and inaccessible to the backyard with locked gate fence. Cleaning agents and disinfectants are stored in the laundry room and in a locked storage cabinet making it inaccessible. The bathroom to be used for children in care was observed to be clean, sanitary and free of toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. Children and parents will have access to enter the side gate with keypad and code parents will have access to code to enter at anytime. A regulation 2A10BC fire extinguisher was observed with a purchase date of 3/27/25. Applicants is reminded to service or purchase the fire extinguisher yearly. LPAs had applicant test smoke and carbon monoxide detector which were found operational, 9:47am. All adults in the home are fingerprint cleared. LPAs observed the home to be orderly. No other bodies of water were observed on site besides the pool/jacuzzi. Applicants stated that there are no guns or ammunition in the home. Applicant's Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate is valid until 2/10/27 for both apllicants. Applicant's Mandated Reported Training is valid until 2/27/27 for Alina and 3/2/27 for Peter. Preventative Health and Safety and Nutrition Training was completed on 5/3/25 for both applicants. Childcare orientation was completed on 2/18/25 for Peter and 2/24/25 Alina. Fire clearance was received by fire inspector on 5/12/25. Applicant provided proof of control of property. Applicant owns the home. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Continued on 809-C Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. LPAs reviewed with applicant the LIC 311D, Forms/Records to Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children\342\200\231s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted. Entrance Checklist was provided to the applicant. LPAs provided the applicant updated state required forms to be kept in the children's records. LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with [applicant, licensee, or facility representative]and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/ safe-sleep, as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicants of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment LPAs discussed and provided Guidelines to Safe Sleep and Effects of Lead Exposure leaflets. Applicant was provided information from P IN 20-24-CCP - Recently Approved Safe Sleep Regulations In Effect and LIC 9227 (Infant Sleeping Plan). Applicant was informed baby walkers, jumpers, bouncers, exersaucers, or any similar article are not permitted on the premises during day care hours. Applicant was made aware of the responsibility to know the regulations for Family Child Care Home which can be accessed on-line at www.ccld.ca.gov . Continued on 809-C On this date 5/21/25, the California Attorney General - Megan\342\200\231s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. Applicants was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms. To receive important licensed related information to licensed facilities, visit the CCLD Important Information website at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-carelicensing/ subscribe and select the Child Care option to receive email communication. A Large family child care license is effective today, May 21,2025 A notice of site visit was given to applicant Alina and Peter Taub and must remain posted for 30 days.
