What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Chayntel Hunter met with Site Supervisor, Norma Villanueva for the purpose of an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. There were 19 children supervised by 5 staff during today's inspection. LPA toured the facility inside and out. LPA observed that hazardous items (disinfectants, cleaning solutions etc.) were inaccessible to children in care. Facility days and hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM from April to October. Facility provides breakfast, lunch and PM snack. LPA reviewed care and supervision of children, staffing ratios, medications and first aid supplies, furniture, equipment, fire drills and drinking water. LPAs observed all required forms to be posted. There were cribs available for each infant under 12 months old and cots available for infants over 12 months old. There are needs and services plans for each infant and toddler enrolled. In addition, LPA discussed the infant sleep regulations with Site Supervisor. LPA observed 15min infant napping logs for infants 24 months and under. LPA observed LIC 9227 Individual Sleeping Plan for licensee during today's inspection. LPA observed sleeping logs and individual sleeping plans for infants in care, per safe sleep regulations. LPA observed a changing table within arm's reach of the sink. There are adequate toys and equipment available for children. Outdoor play area was toured, the play structure for the toddlers appeared to be in good repair, there is sufficient cushioning under the play structure to prevent the fall. Report continues on 809-C. LPA reviewed the electronic sign in/out book and observed that the children are properly signed in. LPA reviewed children\342\200\231s and staff files. All staff present during today's inspection have a fingerprint clearance. LPAs observed health screening reports with TB test and required MMR and TDAP vaccines for all staff members. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid (exp. 03/2023). LPA observed AB1207 Mandated Reporter training certificates for all staff. During the inspection LPA reviewed new COVID19 self-assessment guide and conducted a technical assistance tour of the facility to incorporate Department of Public Health safety protocols for operating during the pandemic. LPA reviewed posting requirements and facility operations including sanitation and pick up/drop off procedures. LPA verified annual fees were current. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. Facility has a plan in place. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. This facility evaluation report was reviewed and discussed with the Site Supervisor. An exit interview was conducted. A Notice of Site Visit was provided and should remain posted for a period of 30 days for parental review. The Site Supervisor was encouraged to visit the Department's website at WWW.CCLD.CA.GOV for information regarding childcare updates, forms, regulations and legislation pertaining child care centers. In the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were cited during the inspection.
