What the inspector wrote

Application Specialist (AS) Alecia Sifuentes met with Administrative Assistant, Molly Logan-Jones l for the purpose of an unannounced change of capacity case management inspection. Licensee requests to serve 12 infant children from birth to two years of age. The program operates Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The fire clearance was granted and received on 4/28/2022. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There is one infant classroom (TB-118). AS observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, high chairs, cubbies, napping cots, and no cribs. Director acknowledges there will be a maximum of 0 infants under 12 months old, due to available cribs. AS used current classroom measurements. The total classroom space contains a total of 818 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee's request for 12 infant children. There is one sink for the children, and a separate private restroom for the staff. AS observed two changing table within arm's reach of a sink. OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There are two outdoor areas on the property, Infant/Toddler yard and Preschool yard. AS used current outdoor measurements. The Infant/Toddler outdoor play area contains a total of 15,229 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee's request for 12 infant children. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Report continues on LIC809-C. AS discussed the safe sleep regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. AS also informed Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platform. To receive important licensed-related information to licensed facilities, visit the CCLD Important Information website at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care-licensing/subscribe and select the Child Care option to receive email communication. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Administrative Assistant, Molly Logan-Jones. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Effective today, 5/4/2022, AS will approve the capacity change of 12 infant children licensed to serve children from age 0-24 months (with a maximum census of 0 infants under 12 months old due to available cribs).
