What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Erwin Tjhia met with Site Supervisor, Larry Murvine for the purpose of an unannounced Annual inspection.There were 3 staff present without any children during inspection. Facility days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Facility provides breakfast, lunch and snack, All staff present during today's inspection have a fingerprint clearance. Site Supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA toured the classrooms, restrooms, and outdoor play areas. Medications, toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. LPA observed that disinfectants, cleaning solutions, etc were inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed all required forms to be posted. Drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed full legal signatures while reviewing the sign in and sign out sheets. Children and staff files were reviewed. LPA observed health screening reports with TB test and required MMR and TDAP vaccines. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid. LPA observed AB1207 mandated reporter training certificates for all staff. The Site Supervisor was reminded to renew the course every 2 years through www.mandatedreporterca.com website . Report Continue on 809-C This facility provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS). LPA reviewed storage of medications and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s personnel, and administrative records. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Site Supervisor was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the site supervisor, Larry Murvine . A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. In the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were cited during the inspection.
