Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Centralized Application Bureau (CAB) Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alecia Sifuentes and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lauren Scott met with Site Supervisor Joy McAllister for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee requests a change of capacity for 40 children ages three years to entry into kindergarten. The fire clearance (STD850) was granted and received on 7/22/2024. The program currently operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There are two preschool classrooms located in the Preschool Building and Room #3 in the Elementary School Building. LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, cubbies, and napping cots. LPA used current measurements from the reports dated 11/2/2022 and 1/23/2009, therefore LPA did not take measurements. The two preschool classrooms contain a total of 1,638 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee\342\200\231s request for 40 preschool children. There are three toilets and four sinks located in the preschool classroom building and Room #3. OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There is one preschool outdoor area on the property. Site Supervisor informed LPA that the preschool playground has been extended to include additional black top and a grass area. LPA informed Site Supervisor that the facility currently has a Shared Outdoor Space Waiver on file to also utilize the TK playground. Site Supervisor stated that since the preschool playground has been extended they do not plan to utilize the TK playground. LPA measured the preschool outdoor activity space. The outdoor activity space contains a total of 18,980 square feet, which will accommodate the Licensee\342\200\231s request for 40 preschool children. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). Report continues LIC809-C. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Site Supervisor Joy McAllister. Effective today, 8/1/2024, LPA will approve the change of capacity for 40 preschool children ages three years to entry into kindergarten in the Preschool Building and Room #3 of the Elementary School Building.
