What the inspector wrote

On August 12, 2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Lauren Scott conducted a site inspection for the purpose of a Room Change inspection. The program is moving from room K1 to H2 on the campus of Prairie Elementary. Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: The indoor space is one classroom. The facility is requesting the capacity of 20 children. LPA observed smoke and Carbon monoxide detectors and a fire extinguisher that all meet title 22 regulations. The facility plans to operate Monday- Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The facility will provide breakfast, lunch and snack. All food will be prepared by the school district and brought into the facility. LPA observed the facility has a total of two toilets and three sinks. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the requested 20 children. Furniture and equipment appeared to be in good condition and age appropriate. LPA observed 20 nap mats for children to utilize. The classroom contains a total measurement of 886.42 square feet which is enough to accommodate the licensed capacity request of 20 Preschool children. Report Continues on 809-C. OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: The outdoor play area is fenced and is equipped with children's outdoor play equipment. The outdoor activity space was previously measured and totals 4,112 square feet which will accommodate the licensed capacity request of 20 Preschool age children. Outdoor space will be shared by another preschool program. Facility is requesting a shared outdoor space waiver. LPAs discussed IMS. The facility provides Incidental Medical Services- IMS. LPAs reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. An exit interview was conducted in which the report was reviewed and discussed with Katrina Hopkins. Appeal Rights were given. A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. The following items are required prior to the room change being effective: 1. shared outdoor waiver
