Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Erwin Tjhia and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Bettina Engelman conducted a Case management inspection and met with Licensee, Meghan Gorham. There were 10 children supervised by licensee and 1 staff. The purpose of the inspection was to follow up on the inspections conducted on 10/04/2023 regarding licensee\342\200\231s swimming pool fencing. Since the last inspection, licensee has done the following actions: install additional fencing, install new windows that can not be opened, and move the mesh fence in the front of the stone wall to prevent climbing. LPA and LPM toured the backyard and observed a mesh fence that separated the pool area. The mesh fencing extended from the corner of the home to the left of the patio door to the wooden perimeter fence. The fencing by the stone wall has been moved to the front to prevent climbing. LPA did measurements around the fencing. The base of the fence to the top of the fence measured 5 feet 1 inch. The fencing does not obstruct the view of the pool. The gate does swings away from the pool, self closing with self latching mechanism. The self latching mechanism is located no more than six inches from the top of the gate. LPA did not observe any objects located near the fence. An additional locked wooden gate prevents access from five windows leading from the side of the house to the pool area. LPA and LPM also observed the five windows leading from the back of the house to the pool area can not be opened. Based on today's inspection, the Licensee's pool fencing for the in ground pool meets Title 22 regulation requirements. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Meghan Gorham. A notice of site visit was provided and posted by LPA and must remain posted for 30 days. No Title 22 deficiencies observed in the areas evaluated during the inspection.
