Licensing Program Analysts (LPA), Chayntel Hunter and Salene Mayberry met with Licensee, Abelina Rocha for the purpose of conducting a case management inspection to increase the facility capacity. Licensee applied to change from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Fire clearance was granted by Woodland Fire Department on 2/28/2022. LPA observed eight children present in the home with Licensee and her Assistant. All adults have criminal record clearances. All adults living and working in the facility have a criminal record clearances. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPAs and Licensee toured the home inside and out. Off limit areas of the facility will be the garage. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter the off-limit areas. LPAs observed functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguisher were observed in the home. LPAs observed that there were no hazardous items accessible to children. LPAs observed that cleaning materials were inaccessible. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. Report continues on 812-C. Licensee currently does not have any children enrolled that require IMS. LPAs discussed IMS services and the requirement to create a plan of operation. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPAs also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. LPA reviewed with licensee the LIC311D, Forms/Records To Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children\342\200\231s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted. Licensee was encouraged to visit the department website at WWW.CCLD.CA.GOV for information regarding child care updates, forms, regulations and legislation pertaining to family child care homes. Effective today 03/01/22, facility is approved for a Large Family Child Care License to serve 12 children (when there is an assistant present) with no more than 4 infants, or capacity of 14 children when 1 child is enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten or above and 1 child at least age 6 with a maximum of 3 infants. Without an assistant, the ratios revert to those for a small family childcare home. A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
