What the inspector wrote

Application Specialist (AS) Alecia Sifuentes and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Erwin Tjhia met with Regional Director Cynthia (Cindy) Bunton and Director Chryscena (Cena) Unangst for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee requests a change of capacity. Licensee is removing the toddler option program and lowering the infant capacity to 20 infants 0 to 24 months. The fire clearance was granted and received on 8/9/2023. The program operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: AS observed one infant classroom and a crib area. Licensee stated the crib area has been relocated towards the front of the classroom. AS observed 9 cribs. Licensee acknowledges there will be a maximum of 9 infants under 12 months old, due to available cribs. AS measured the infant classroom. The total classroom space contains a total of 763 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee's request for 20 infant children. AS observed three sinks and two changing tables within arm's reach of a sink. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Report continues on LIC809-C. Director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Regional Director, Cindy Bunton. The following item is required before the change of capacity will be approved: 1. Photos of meshing installed on the crib partition wall dividers.
