What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Chayntel Hunter, and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lauren Scott met with Licensee, Abelina Sue Rocha , for the purpose of an Informal Meeting. LPM Hunter defined the difference between a Non-Compliance and an Informal Meeting. LPM advised Ms. Rocha the purpose of todays meeting is to help provider gain compliance. Today's informal meeting was to discuss the incident that occurred on 07/17/2024 where the provider was out of ratio and took over 30minutes to answer the door, as well as incident where children got out of the side gate and was found by another parent in the front yard. The Licensee stated that they have taken the following steps to maintain compliance: 1. Physical plant/Supervision: Licensee installed lock on side gate 2. Physical plant/Supervision: Licensee added bells to the front doors to alert staff when the door is opened 3. Ratio: Reviewing children's schedule to make sure facility is not over capacity. LPA and LPM reviewed regulations on Supervision and Reporting Requirements. LPM and LPA provided information regarding training videos on Health and Safety and the Technical Support Program (TSP), which is a non-enforcement arm of the Community Care Licensing Division offering onsite support to licensees and providers. LPA will follow-up with Licensee Abelina Sue Rocha for TSP services. LPA discussed using the Department website (ccld.ca.gov) for child care updates, legislation, forms and regulation information. LPM suggested viewing information videos at www.ccld.childcarevideos.org . This report was reviewed by Licensee Abelina Sue Rocha.

This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Licensee did not report an incident to licensing where at least one child wandered out of the home and into the front yard of the home and found by another parent.This is a potential healthy, safety or personal rights risk to children in care.

  • STAFFING RATIO AND CAPACITY

    (f) The total licensed capacity for a Large Family Child Care Home shall not exceed fourteen children.This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on observations made on 7/17/24, LPA observed 15 children in care with licensee and one assistant.This poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to children in care.
