On November 14, 2024, at 11:15 AM. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Deborah Khashe and Program Licensing Analyst (LPA) Erwin Ejhia met with Licensee Sohaila Hamdard, for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. LPA Khashe explained the purpose of the unannounced annual inspection. LPAs were granted for entry into the facility by Licensee. There were seven (7) children present at the time of inspection. Licensee's operating hours are Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM snack, lunch, PM snack is provided to day care children. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. The one-story and single-family home has three (3) bedrooms and two (2) bathrooms, and a 1-car garage. The off-limits areas in the home include the garage, master bedroom, bedroom 1, bedroom, and backyard. On-limits areas in the home include the living room, kitchen, bathroom in the hallway, and one playroom. LPAs observed the required postings and a working phone. 2A10BC fire extinguisher meets regulations. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and verified they were both functional. LPA toured the kitchen area and verified knives and cleaners were inaccessible to children in care. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. LPA observed all on limit area\342\200\231s which include kitchen, living room, bathroom and verified that hazardous and toxic items were inaccessible to children in care. Children's files were reviewed. Emergency information and required immunization records were on file. LPA observed a current roster and documentation that a fire drill is conducted at least once every six months. LPA Khashe discussed with licensee the requirement of conducting a fire drill every 6 months. Licensee's immunization records for measles (MMR), pertussis (Tdap), and the flu are available in the facility file. Current in-person EMSA pediatric CPR and First Aid certification was verified and expires on 2/17/26. Report continues 809-C. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. LPA discussed the Year-Round/Daily Reminder of Water Safety Requirements and Measures with licensee. LPA provided licensee the PIN 23-17-CCLD, the Year-Round and Daily Reminder of Water Safety Requirements and Measures. LPA stressed the importance of checking the premises for bodies of water daily prior to children's arrival for children's safety.
