What California Code § 87468(b)(1)(A) actually says

The licensee shall have each resident and the resident's representative sign a copy of these rights, and the signed copy shall be included in the resident's record.

What providers tell us about this citation
Based on community experience, not official guidance.
35 California RCFEs were cited for missing or unsigned resident rights acknowledgements, with 46 total citations issued. LPAs review a sample of resident records during every inspection and check for this form early. Make signed rights acknowledgement a mandatory checklist item at admission. Missing even one signature across your census can produce a Type B citation, a plan of correction, and unnecessary follow-up scrutiny from CCLD.
