What the inspector wrote

On 12/11/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Dana Santiago conducted an unannounced required inspection. LPA met with director Brianah Mader. This is a preschool age program licensed for 15 children which operates Monday – Friday from 8:15 AM – 5:30 PM. The center is on a residential street with the entrance through the left door. LPA observed 12 children with 2 staff. Teacher-child ratios were observed to be in accordance with Title 22 regulations. The Licensee is within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. The facility operates in 3 classrooms. Furniture and equipment were inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. There is one pet guinea pig. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. The isolation area varies in a classroom that is not being occupied by children. The facility provides AM and PM snack. All kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. There is drinking water available in all indoor classrooms and individual water bottles are taken outdoors. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children are stored in an area inaccessible to children. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. Last disaster drill was conducted 7/2025. Director is reminded that disaster drills must be conducted at least every 6 months and logged. Continue on Page 2------------ Page 2------------------- Outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Areas around and/or under climbing equipment have cushioning material to absorb a fall. LPA did not observe any bodies of water during this visit. Director stated there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. Sign in and out sheets procedures were reviewed, the center uses the Brightwheel App. Three staff and six children's files were reviewed. See inspection tool notes. Criminal Records Clearance for adults and verification of CPR/First Aid and health preventative practices documentation was reviewed. Director is reminded that CPR/First Aid certification and Mandated reporter training must be renewed every 2 years. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP .
