Office review·July 15, 2022

On 7/15/22, Licensing Program Manager Loretta Dyson and Regional Manager Diane Perez conducted an office visit during a non-compliance conference with this facility, following the conclusion of a complaint investigation. LPM and RM met with Magali Noth, Head of Primary (Preschool/Elementary), Chauncy Burnett, Director of Enrichment and Athletics, and Phil Stanhope, HR and Payroll Manager. This report is to document deficiencies that were discussed during the conference, which will be cited today. During the conference LPM and RM discussed viewing a video, on 7/13/22, in which it was observed that when a staff member I. Artemieva grabbed, poked and slapped a child other staff did not intervene. Magali Noth advised that staff may have been in shock after seeing what happened, and did not intervene, but did immediately report the incident to them. It was noted that the criminal record clearance for staff member I. Artemieva was not associated to the center since she began working as a substitute teacher in August 2021. See the LIC 809D for deficiencies that were cited, related to the above. This report will remain on file for 3 years. An interview was conducted with C. Burnett by telephone, and a copy of the report was emailed to them for signature. Appeal rights were sent by email.
