What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kassandra Medrano made an unannounced Case Management- Deficiencies inspection. LPA Medrano was granted entry by S5. Present in the facility were 12 children with one staff. Later during the inspection, at 2:58pm, the director, Tyesha Maryland arrived. The purpose of the inspection was explained. LPA Medrano toured the facility and inspected for health and safety hazards. During review of records it was found that S5 was alone at the facility with expired Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training (CPR). Per the director the staff has a current certificate on file but was unable to provide that during the inspection. California Code of Regulations, Title 22 deficiencies are being cited on the following page(s): A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Facility representative, Tyesha.

    PERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS

    Personnel Requirements(f) At least one staff member who is trained in pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric first aid pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866 shall be present when children are at the child care center or offsite for center activities.This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on review of records it was found that S5 was alone at the facility with expired CPR. Per S2 the staff member has current documentation but was unable to provide that documentation during the inspection. This poses a potential health and safety risk to children in care.
