On 4/232025 at 8:00 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Janai McClain met with Director Lakesha Aarif for an unannounced annual inspection. The infant center was inspected for a health and safety check. Present during the inspection were 7 infants and 2 finger print cleared staff members. The teacher/child ratio was being met today. This center operates Monday through Friday 7:30AM to 5:30PM. There is also a preschool component (facility #013421993). CLASSROOMS: There is adequate heating/air conditioning, ventilation and lighting. The cha n gi ng t a ble is within arms reach of the sink. LPA did not observe cleaning supplies or toxic items accessible to children during todays inspection. The toys appear to be safe and well maintained. There were play and learning materials available for the children. The floors, furniture, and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. Drin king water is available inside and outside of the center. There is proper individua l sto rage space for each child. The center has a working smoke detector, working carbon monoxide detector, working telephone, and pull down fire alarm syste m. FOOD SERVICE AREAS: The ki tch en is not acc essible to children in care. The food preparation area and storage areas are clean and in sanitary condition. A m en u is posted and is visible for review. Infant b o ttl es are appropriately labeled. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Break f ast, Lunch and snacks are provided by the center. *********************************** Page 1 of 3 ************************************ OUTDOOR PLAY AREAS: There were plenty of age appropriate activities and plenty of shade for the children in care. The outdoor play area is fully fenced in. There were no bodies of water or pools on the day care premises. There was plenty of space for the children to run and develop their gross motor skills. BATHROOMS AND TOILETING AREAS: The changing table has a padded surface covered with vinyl and is within arms reach of the sink. The sinks and faucets are in safe and sanitary operating condition. RECORDS: LPA reviewed 4 infant files which were all complete. Two staff files were also reviewed and were complete. All individuals subject to criminal record review have a criminal record clearance. Mandated Reporter Training was current for staff. The Director has a current CPR training certificate. All required documents are posted for public review. Disaster drills are being conducted at least once every 6 months, the last fire drill took place on March 10, 2025. No IMS is being provided as of today. There is a staff member with a current CPR certification during all hours of the day care. Director was reminded that EMSA approved Pediatric CPR & First Aid training must be completed every two (2) years. Personnel Roster must be properly maintained, and fire/disaster drill must be conducted every six (6) months and documented. Director was reminded that California Law requires all facilities to report unusual incidents or injuries to children in care, to child's parents, and to the Department of Social Services using the Unusual Incident/Injury form (LIC 624). Incidents must be reported within 24 hours by phone or fax. LPA informed Director that all forms can be downloaded at www.ccld.ca.gov . Director was also informed that Mandated Reporter Training ("General" and "Child Care Providers") is required for all staff and is to be renewed every 2 years by visiting www.mandatedreporterca.com . Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP . CCC completed testing and no exceedances. Report was reviewed with the Director Lakesha Aarif.
