What the inspector wrote

On 08/24/22, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Domantay and Melissa Guirit arrived at the facility for an unannounced case management inspection for a change of capacity and adding of a classroom, Room# 112. LPAs met with Head of School Julia Neely. Present for today's inspection were 77 children and 26 staff. The normal hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:30am-6:00pm. LPAs conducted a full tour of the facility to conduct a health and safety inspection with Julia. The addition of the new room results in the following measurements for Room #112 is as follows: 793.56 square feet = 22 children LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. There are sufficient amount of sinks and toilets for children to utilize. There is a designated staff bathroom. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, furniture, and are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. LPAs observed the outdoor play yard areas, they are fully fenced and have ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play structures and play areas. LPAs observed ample amount of shade for children. The building has a fully charged fire extinguisher and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children. See 809-C for continuance. A license for a capacity of 112 preschoolers and room addition is pending to become part of the license, awaiting fire clearance. There are no deficiencies being cited today. A Notice of Site inspection was provided to Julia Neely and an exit interview was conducted.
