What the inspector wrote

On January 30, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jennie Tedlos conducted an unannounced required annual inspection and met with Licensee, Cable Chong. LPA observed 4 children supervised by Licensee. Criminal record clearances have been verified. Facility fees were reviewed and are current. Licensee stated there are no new residents in the home since licensure. Licensee hours of operation are Monday- Thursday: 6:45 AM- 5:00 PM and Fridays: 6:45 AM-3:00 PM and does not provide overnight care. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA conducted a health and safety inspection in all areas accessible to children in care. LPA observed the required facility license and Parent’s Rights postings. Off-Limits Areas include the Master Bedroom/Bathroom. Off-Limits areas will remain inaccessible to children in care by way of gate, locked or closed doors. Licensee understands that to make any off-limits areas an on-limits area, they must notify licensing and the LPA must do an inspection before children are allowed in the area. There are no bodies of water at the home. The backyard area is fenced. During the inspection of the backyard area, LPA observed unopened adult beverages on a table within children's reach. The Licensee moved the beverages to an area inaccessible to children in care. Toys appear to be safe and in working condition. Cleaning agents and detergents are made inaccessible to children in care. Fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet regulation. Licensee states there are no weapons in the home. Licensee has pets and understands the responsibility of keeping children in care safe while in the presence of pets. REPORT CONTINUES ON 809-C… LPA conducted record reviews during the inspection. LPA observed a current facility roster and that fire drills are completed and documented at least once every 6 months. Children and Licensee's files were reviewed, which possessed the required documents. The Licensee has current Mandated Reporter training. Licensee understands Mandated Reporter Training must be renewed every two years. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training expires 05/2027. Mandated reporter training can be accessed at www.mandatedreporterca.com . Licensee has current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification. Licensee understands Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification must be renewed every two years. Certification expiration date is 07/2026. Pediatric CPR/First Aid training program providers can be found here: https://emsa.ca.gov/childcare_provider/ . Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22- 02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with the Licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and- resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed the Licensee of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee Chong Cable, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility, and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Cable Chong. Appeal rights were provided.
