Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 11/29/22 at 8:30am, an annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Erica Laird. At 9:00am the home was toured inside and outside. The licensee was supervising 0 children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. The facility\342\200\231s operating hours are 24 hours Mon-Sun. Licensee understands no one child can remain in care longer than 24 hours. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The off-limits areas of the home are the master bedroom and garage and are made inaccessible by lock. The children use the front yard as the outdoor play area and it is fully fenced. There is a seasonal creek in the back part of the property and is made inaccessible by chain link fencing. Five children's records were reviewed at 9:15am. One staff records were reviewed at 9:25am. There are currently two adults living in the home. The Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee [or facility representative] and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records.
