Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

A prelicensing inspection was conducted today at 9:20am by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Laura Chavez. LPA met with licensee Dyanna Santana. The inspection is made in conjunction with the licensee's request for an increase in capacity of 14. The facility will operate Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm. The residence is a 3 bedroom/2 bath single story home. Two adults currently reside in the home. The home and yard were toured, and the facility sketch was verified. The following areas will be off limits to children: two bedrooms including the master bathroom and garage. These areas have been made inaccessible by means of doorknob covers. The third bedroom will be used as a children's play area. The home is equipped with a working smoke detector and fire extinguisher rated at least 2A10BC. There is a wood stove located in the living room which will be used as the main heating source. Two wall heaters, one is located to the left of the front door as one walks in the second is located in the hallway. The licensee stated the wall heaters will not be used while children are in care. The licensee understands that the wall heaters will be securely screened should they be used while children are in care. The children will use the backyard as the outdoor play area. The backyard is completely fenced. There is no pool, spa, pond, fountain, or any other body of water on the premises. The licensee owns the home and provided proof of control of property. On this date, 4/18/2025, the California Attorney General - Megan’s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. An exit interview was conducted and the report was reviewed with licensee Dyanna Santana. The following items need to be completed prior to the granting of license: 1. Fire Safety inspection approval. 2. Proof of making the wood stove inaccessible to children.
