What the inspector wrote

Exit interview was conducted with Director, Lisa Sauter. A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS ISSUED AND MUST BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. 101223 Personal Rights (a) The licensee shall ensure that each child is accorded the following personal rights (3) To be free from corporal or unusual punishment, infliction of pain, humiliation, intimidation, ridicule, coercion, threat, mental abuse or other actions of a punitive nature including but not limited to: interference with functions of daily living including eating, sleeping or toileting; or withholding of shelter, clothing, medication or aids to physical functioning

    101223 Personal Rights (a) The licensee shall ensure that each child is accorded the following personal rights (3) To be free from corporal or unusual punishment, infliction of pain, humiliation, intimidation, ridicule, coercion, threat, mental abuse or other actions of a punitive nature [...] This requirement is not met as evidenced by: It was determined staff S1 was helping child C1 during bathroom break, she held/squeezed C1’s upper arms to stop C1 from sitting on a soiled pull-up and have an accident on the floor. S1 admitted this incident occurred. This resulted in bruises on C1’s arm and made child upset, cry. This is a violation of personal rights and potential risk to safety of children. Since action was unintentional Type B is cited .
