    (a) The licensee shall ensure that each child is accorded the following personal rights: (2) To be accorded safe, healthful and comfortable accommodations, furnishings and equipment to meet his/her needs.This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on interviews conducted it was determined that the facility has been having an odor in the facility due to the rodent infestation and a water leak under the building, which poses an immediate risk to the health, safety, and personal rights of children in care.

  • BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS

    (a) The child care center shall be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. (1) The licensee shall take measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents. This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on observations and interviews conducted it was determined that the facility has a rodent infestation and rodent droppings were found on the floor in the children's bathroom, kitchen, and in the classrooms which poses an immediate risk to the health, safety, and personal rights of children in care.

    Based on record review, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. During inspection a newly hired staff MEENU SINGH was present but not associated to this facility or any other Kindercare facility owned by same licensee. Director stated she started working on 7/24/23, is in training and not helping out in the classrooms yet. LPA verified with CCLD office staff and Guardian Background showed person had working eligible association to another licensed childcare facility which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

    PERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS

    Based on record review, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. Director and staff present today did not have current certification in EMSA approved Pediatric CPR and First Aid. Director stated everyone's expired in May 2023 and they did not schedule to renew it yet; which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
