What the inspector wrote

On June 15, 2022 at 11:30 AM Licensing Program Analyst Nyeesha Blount and Licensing Program Manager Mayla Mendoza met with Licensees Sade Honey and Cheyenne Jones. Also present in the home was 1 Infant 6 Preschool, 3 School age children, and Assistant Alvina Wilson. LPA and LPM conducted an announced Pre Licensing inspection. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 6:30AM to 11:00PM, Saturday and Sunday 8:00AM to 8:00PM. .LPA and LPM toured the first and second story of the home Furnishings and equipment, including infant sleeping equipment, are age appropriate and free of sharp/broken pieces. Isolation area for the children will be located in the dinning room. The On limits area of the home will be the kitchen, living room, dinning room, bathroom, first bedroom, right side of the backyard. The off limits area of the home will be the entire second story of the home, left side of the backyard and garage. There is a working smoke detector and fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher. Outdoor play area has safe structured equipment.. There are no hazardous conditions observed in the patio or outdoor play areas. There are no pools, hot tubs or accessible bodies of water present. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey will be sent to the email address provided. Please complete the survey and share your inspection experience. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee was reminded about importance to stay in compliance with mandated reporter training and maintenance of sleep logs for all infants in care. In the areas that were evaluated, no regulatory violations were observed . Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Honey Sade, Jones Cheyenne Licensee states there are no weapons in the home there is ample amount of toys and learning supplies available. All hazardous materials and toxins are stored away from children. the home has central heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. The following items will need to be completed before licensure: -transfer of criminal record clearances for Angel Nava -transfer of criminal record clearances for Charles Jones -transfer of criminal record clearances Alvina Wilson -carbon monoxide detector (take photo of receipt of newly purchased carbon monoxide detector) -TB test, no older than 1 year for Charles Jones -Immunization records (MMR, tdap, flu shot) for Charles Jones Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Honey Sade, Jones Cheyenne.
