What the inspector wrote

On 02/12/25 at 1:10 pm Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mario Caro met with Licensee Genesis Camacho for an Unannounced Case Management Inspection (to determine if the facility is ready for an increase of capacity), explained the purpose of the visit, and was granted entry into the home. LPA toured the home for a health and safety inspection. Present during the inspection were Licensee, one finger print cleared adult, 4 infants. The facility\342\200\231s operating hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm. All required postings are posted on the parent board. The home is a two story home which consist of four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, family room, living room, laundry room, and backyard. The entrance to the day care is the front gate on the right side of the front of the house. The inside and outside of the home were observed to be neat, and clean with age-appropriate materials, furnishings, books, learning materials, and toys for the children. The home has central heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. All toxins, cleaning products, medications, and hazardous materials were observed to be in areas inaccessible to children. There were no baby walkers, or jumpers observed during inspection. LPA observed a fully charged fire extinguisher 3A-40-BC that meets State Fire Marshal standards and working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. There are no pets in the home. LPA reviewed a current Children Roster, and Emergency Disaster Plan LIC610A. Last fire/disaster drill was completed in 04/18/24 . Licensee provides snacks and cooks for the children. Food storage areas were observed to be sanitary. Licensee stated there are no firearms in the home. ON LIMIT AREAS: First Level: Bedroom 3(Activity/ Nap), Bedroom 4(Activity), Bathroom. Children will be entering daycare through right side yard gate past the backyard through the sliding door into bedroom 4. OFF LIMIT AREAS: First Level : Entrance (Front Door), Kitchen, Laundry Area, Living Room, Dining Area, Closet in Living Room, attached Garage and closet in bedroom 4. Second Level: Completely off limits (2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, attic) Isolation Area : Bedroom 4 OUTDOOR: LPA toured the outdoor areas. The yard is fenced on all sides. No bodies of water were observed. Storage sheds are locked. Observed two large toy chests without locks. ON LIMIT AREAS: Main backyard OFF LIMIT AREAS: Two storage sheds Supervision of children was discussed, and Licensee understands that she must be present in the home during 80% of the operating hours and ensure children are always supervised. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms. On 02/5/25 a fire clearance was granted to this facility by the Oakland fire department. All documents have been received for the increase of capacity application. The licensee was reminded that an assistant is needed with a large family child care home license, and whenever an assistant is not present, the licensee will comply with the capacity requirements for a small child care facility home. As of todays date 02/12/25 this facility is approved to operate as a large family child care home. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee. During the exit interview, the Licensee confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility. A Notice of Site Visit was given to Licensee, Genesis Camacho and must remain posted for 30 days. On 02/12/25 the California Attorney General - Megan\342\200\231s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Please complete the survey and share your inspection experience. For additional information regarding the inspection and its tools and methods, please visit the Program website at www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care-licensing/inspection-process Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the Safe Sleep regulations with Licensee and the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPAs also informed Licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
