On 9/8/2025 at 9:05am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Morgan Pringle met with facility owners to deliver findings for a complaint. Present during LPAs visit were twenty-two (22) preschool age children, twelve (12) toddlers, and ten (10) additional staff. The facility operates from 7:00am – 6:00pm, Monday – Friday. During the course of LPAs investigation records were obtained for an incident that happened on 3/14/2025 where a Deputy from the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Department was called to the facility. The incident was not reported to the Department or the child’s family. The Department was informed by facility owners that they were instructed by the Deputy to not report the incident to the Department or the child’s parents. Through interview it was found that the child’s family was also told by the facility owners that the Deputy told the owners not to report the incident to the child’s parents. The Deputy’s body-worn camera video was reviewed from the day of the Deputy’s visit to the facility, and it was found that the Deputy did not instruct the facility owners to not report the incident to the Department or the child’s parents. Through interviews conducted during LPAs investigation, it was also found that in February 2025 a child sustained a concussion while in care. Two children bumped into each other while transitioning from inside to outside. The child was taken to the hospital where the concussion was confirmed by a physician.
