On 8/6/2025 at 9:05am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Morgan Pringle met with Director Vandana Anand for a 10-day complaint visit. Present during the visit were a total of sixty-six (66) children and twenty-one (21) additional staff. The facility holds a single license for infants, toddlers and preschool age children. During LPAs visit it was found that one (1) staff member (S1) in the Young Toddlers Room did not have a criminal record clearance (see LIC809D) since being associated to the facility on 7/8/2025. Director stated that the facility was aware the staff members fingerprints had not cleared, but did not know why. LPA informed the Director of the steps to take to ensure the criminal record clearance was obtained. The facility called the proper department to handle the issue while LPA was present. Staff member was instructed to start the LiveScan process and will not return to the facility until a criminal record clearance is obtained. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Vandana Anand.
