What the inspector wrote

A prelicensing inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), J. Snow. LPA met with facility representative Irisa Cristino. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for # 10 children including 10 infants, age 0-24 months and 10 toddlers, age 18-36 months in the front building. Hours of operation will be Monday -Friday, 8am-5pm. Facility uses entire property. The indoor and outdoor activity spaces were toured, and the facility sketch was verified. The following areas will be off limits to children: with no appliances. There is a kitchen to store meals. There is a nap room for infants to sleep with 3 cribs and 7 nap maps, 10 nap mats available for toddlers to sleep in the toddler room. The isolation area for sick children will be located in the soft area. The changing table is located in the bathroom. The outdoor play area is fully fenced. There is no play structure. There is no pool, spa, pond, fountain, or any other body of water on the premises. There is safe and age appropriate furniture, toys, and play equipment available for children. A capacity worksheet was completed during the visit. The inside, room square footage measured 742 square feet. Children have access to at least 2 toilets & sinks. The outside, yard square footage measur ed 4,910 square feet . Based on above, sufficient for the requested inside and outside capacity. cont The following items need to be completed prior to the granting the license: 1. Verify Carbon Monoxide Detector 2. Updated fire clearance 3. Install lock to store poisons 4. *Limited to 3 crib infants 5. Waiver approval for the shared infant/toddler yard Criminal Record Clearance - Child Care Centers: Irisa Cristino was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. APPLICANT KNOWS PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS WILL NEED IMS: This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.
